The mission of the Robins Regional Chamber is to promote the business interests of our members through advocacy, building partnerships, and education. To that end, we invite you to participate in our upcoming candidate forums. We will hear from candidates running for Warner Robins City Council on September 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Building A Auditorium at Central Georgia Technical College, Warner Robins Campus. We will hold a separate forum for Centerville City Council candidates on September 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the Centerville Community Center at City Hall.
WARNER ROBINS FORUM CHARLIE BIBB
Candidate for Post 2
Charlie Bibb has been a resident of Warner Robins, Georgia for 40 years. He has been an ordained minister for 19 years. Charlie’s Pastoral role includes Liberty Independent Baptist Church, Pastor of Evangelism at Southside Baptist Church both of Warner Robins; Georgia, Mt. Pisgah, Butler, Georgia; and Shady Grove Baptist Church, Byron, Georgia. He has implemented 2 successful Celebrate Recovery programs that minister to 500 or more men, women, and children to this day. Charlie has a passion for the city of Warner Robins, Georgia and the people that live here. His passion for both gives him a strong desire to see growth and unity. Charlie is currently employed with Robins Air Force Base. He has a passion to help and sever others. It gives him great honor to go to work every day knowing he is supporting the warfighter. Charlie has been married to his wife for twenty-seven years. They have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
ERIC LANGSTON
Candidate for Post 2
Eric was born and raised in Warner Robins. He went to grade and middle school and graduated from high school here. Eric developed discipline and work ethic on the baseball field and is an active member of Harvest Church. He served 6 honorable years in the GA ANG at RAFB. Eric completed his undergraduate studies in Political Science and International Affairs at Mercer University. He went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Georgia College. After college Eric hired on at RAFB, where he currently works. He has served our community by serving on several local boards to include the Development Authority of the City of Warner Robins and the Joint Development Authority of the City of Warner Robins and Peach County. He also served as a Board member for the Nominating Committee for the Boy Scouts of America. Eric even had the pleasure of serving as a pageant consultant to former Miss America, Betty Cantrell; so service is nothing new to Eric.
STEPHEN BAUGHIER
Candidate for Post 2
Stephen Baughier was a WRHS drum major and a 1996 Honor Graduate. He served in the U.S. Navy then returned home where he earned his BBA and Masters of Accountancy degrees from GCSU. He also served a six-year enlistment with the USAF Reserve at Robins AFB. Stephen has 15 years of accounting experience, including seven years as a project controller for Northrop Grumman. In 2017, he founded CampFI, which is a series of personal finance retreats throughout the country for people taking control of their finances through responsible, common-sense money management. Since becoming self-employed, Stephen has been able to spend more quality time with his children: David Micah (13) and Alyssa (10). He also volunteers regularly as a math tutor for adult GED learners at CGTC. Stephen invites ALL of Warner Robins to participate in the November 5th election.
KEVIN LASHLEY
Candidate for Post 4
Born and raised in Warner Robins. Attended Warner Robins High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Kevin and his wife of 16 years, Wendy, have 3 daughters, Isabelle, Olivia, and Eden. The Lashleys are active at Southside Baptist Church. They are also very active at Precision South Gymnastics Academy with competitive gymnastics and cheerleading. Kevin worked for the last 23 years as an agent in his family’s Allstate agency until he sold the agency this year. He now works for Servpro of Houston County as a project manager. In addition to that, Kevin has served on the DDA and RDA for the last year and a half.
TIM THOMAS (I)
Candidate for Post 4
Tim Thomas is a lifelong resident of Warner Robins. He attended Warner Robins High School, Valdosta State University, and Ft. Valley State University. Tim’s business experience is in the area of construction, investment properties, and he was the former owner of Parkway Bonding. Tim Thomas is the current Representative for City Council Post 4 and a member of the Warner Robins Development Authority. During his service on Council, he has worked hard for his constituents and has brought many projects to Post 4. He is most proud of The Walk at Sandy Run. In June of 2018, Tim was presented with the Certificate of Excellence through the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, for completing over 120 hours of coursework enhancing his knowledge of municipal related manners.
MIRANDA BRITT
Candidate for Post 6
Miranda is a mother of 5 and has lived in Warner Robins Post 6 her entire life. She has worked as the manager at Britt’s Northside Service Center, her family business, for 9 years. She is a graduate of Northside High School and attended Health Tech of Georgia. Miranda attends the First Assembly of God Church. She currently serves on the advisory board for the Genesis Joy House and has worked with the March of Dimes and Rainbow House. Miranda supports 4Kira4Moms and Superwomen Still Standing.
LARRY CURTIS (I)
Candidate for Post 6
Larry Curtis is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia and a 1994 graduate of Warner Robins High School. After graduation, he attended Macon State College & Middle Georgia Technical College. In his free time, Larry enjoys playing softball and running behind his children. He has served as a mentor with Pearl Stephens Elementary School since 1994 and Big Brother Big Sisters Heart of Georgia since 2002. Larry briefly served on the Robins Regional Chamber board of directors before taking office in February of this year. He currently serves on the boards of Wellston Trees & Greens and the Warner Robins Convention & Visitors Bureau in addition to his work with several other local nonprofit organizations and community groups. Larry owns three local businesses, is an employee of Robins Air Force Base, and currently represents Post 6 on the Warner Robins City Council. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Laura A. Curtis, and they have five wonderful children.
JON NICHOLS
Candidate for Post 6
Jon Nichols was born in 1964 at the Houston County Hospital and is a 1982 graduate of THE Northside High School. His heart for service was revealed when he chosen as the Optimist Student of the Month in the 5th grade and represented Henrietta McIntyre at a Warner Robins City Council meeting. In high school, Jon was DECA student, Class President, and served on the Senior Executive Committee. Jon’s community service experience includes: Centerville City Council, Robins Regional Chamber Board, Middle Georgia Military Affairs Committee Chairman, First Baptist Church of Centerville Chairman of the Deacons, Northside High School Council Chair for 5 years, and International City Optimist Club Past President and Projects Chair. He is the General Manager for Bug House Pest Control. Jon is married to his wife Laura of 27 years. They have two boys, Zakary (22) and Corey (14).
